Well.. after replaying GKII, I became interested in the idea of making a fanvideo. (krss, this is entirely your fault.) The result is very amateurish, I'm afraid - please don't expect much! - but if anyone's interested, I've uploaded it for viewing.
Title: Dreams That Cannot Be
Pairing: Gabriel Knight/Friedrich von Glower
Rating: PG for adult themes and violence
Warnings: Spoilers for the ending of Gabriel Knight II

Okay, I have managed to make it work normally on Winamp. Let me watch it.
Wow, it is so beautiful.. So full of feeling, and brings back so many memories.. I think Gabriel would have gone with him. It's *such* a beautiful video. And your editing is perfect. You combined the most emotional scenes, especially at the end.. such sadness, through song and images.
May I reccommend it in my journal? There are a few who would really enjoy it.
Meep.. thank you very much! I'm glad it finally worked, heh. I really didn't think my editing was particularly good, but the subject matter.. it resonates with me very strongly, too. You need to play GKII again sometime - there is so much gorgeous Ludwig/Friedrich material that isn't captured in the game's FMV. "A mind so like the king's own I have never seen..!"
Of course you may, if you like. Thank you again. =)
The first version worked for me! And I have to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH, oh man I miss this game ;_; I lost CD#5 and have never been able to play it since. ;_; Dumb me for never backing up my games. And lovely use of the voices and images!
Thank you! I hope you'll be able to play it again soon.. at least in the meantime you've been spared the temptation to replay constantly; I really have to struggle to allow myself enough time to forget all the puzzle solutions, heh.
The first version worked for me too, awesome :)
Btw, in case you haven't been to the Sierra board lately, you might want to check this campaign site for GK4 (it's under construction)
They've posted a short (very short) story ("Pause") written by Jane Jensen I hadn't read before, which takes place between GK1 and GK2.
